Artist Bio  

Jonathon McKay is a twenty-three old figurative artist from Denver, Colorado and currently lives in Chicago. Graduating from advanced painting, he recently earned his BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2020. Most recently he was commissioned by the Chicago History Museum and was included “City on Fire: Chicago 1871”. Jonathon was part of “Personal History in Narrative Figure Paintings” which was presented by Agitator Gallery. He has shown at the 162. North State Gallery which focused on Chicago based artists who were making artwork after the Trump inauguration. Jonathon was also part of the Im/possible Project art show where artist’s proposed large scale art projects, culminating in an art show of the completed artistic proposals. Jonathon also received a travel grant to study the Old Masters in Florence and Sienna at the Sienna Art Institute (SART), and received a gold medal from the Denver Art Museum and Colorado Watercolor Society and was shown in the Colorado History Museum.
